Helen Pettemerides – Personal Trainer
Helen Pettemerides has been a Personal Trainer for over 8 years in the Bath area and in that time has worked in various gyms and trained a variety of clients. Her clients are all different and working towards varying goals; from those wanting to lose weight, recover from an injury or run a half marathon. Helen's client base consists of men and women of all ages from 16 through to 93!
Helen is mainly based in the studio gym in Batheaston but does one morning a week at Green Tree Health in Bradford on Avon and one afternoon per month at a retirement village in Chippenham.
Helen recently qualified as a Level 4 Lower Back Pain specialist, meaning that she is able to deliver safe and effective exercise plans to aid recovery of clients with lower back pain.
She also provides programmes for clients with medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes or arthritis. Running is a favourite past time for Helen and she can design running programmes from beginner level through to marathons.
Helen qualified through Premier Training and is registered at Level 4 with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS). She is also on the National Register of Personal Trainers.
Helen's interests mainly include keeping fit and active and she likes to take part in various half marathons and 10km races. In June 2012, Helen completed her first ‘ultra’ marathon by running 69 miles in 2 days along Hadrians’ Wall in aid of Dorothy House Hospice. She also likes to walk her springer spaniel and support Bath Rugby
Nathan Leakey – Personal Trainer
Having worked as a Sports Coach for 6 years and building up some valuable experience, Nathan moved onto working as a Fitness Instructor at a gym based in Bath. Through this, Nathan then qualified as a Personal Trainer and has been working in this capacity since 2012. Nathan has worked with a whole host of people ranging from 10 years old, right up to those in their 80’s! He has also worked with those wanting to improve specifically for their chosen sport, including Football, Rugby and Athletics as well as working with people who want to maintain a good level of fitness.
Nathan loves getting alongside the individual and firmly believes that fitness should be something to be prioritised alongside a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
If Nathan is not working, he is often found walking his nutty dog ‘Maverick’, participating in “Tough Mudder’ Events, hanging out with friends and supporting Arsenal FC!
Loren Thaneja – Personal Trainer
Loren trained as a Personal Trainer in 2009 and has worked in a variety of gyms in Bath and London. He has worked with many clients wanting different goals from marathon goals, post surgery rehabilitation and post-natal Programmes.
Loren can do Home-based training with a wide range of equipment including Dumbbells, Kettlebells, TRX and Strength bands. He is also available to work at the gym in Batheaston. Loren is a keen enthusiast of using the outdoors as a gym (Winter/Summer). He enjoys interacting with group classes such as circuits, bootcamps or just a general Running Class.
In his spare time (which he doesn’t have much of due to having 2 young children!!) Loren enjoys watching all kinds of sport from Football to the IPL. He has completed many Marathons and has ambitions to take part in a Triathlon in the near future.
Matt Holmes - Sports Massage Therapist and Personal Trainer
Matt qualified in 2005 from Premier Training. Since then, he has worked in various different Sport Centres until becoming self-employed in 2014. He is available for both Sports Massage and Personal Training in Batheaston, so he is the ‘go to’ man to take you through the rehabilitation process and beyond. So whether you are suffering from a sports injury, work related muscle imbalances or everyday pains and strains then Matt can help.

Kirk Russell – Physiotherapist
Kirk specialises in physiotherapy and the treatment of Sports Injuries, Sports Massage & Assessments and the treatment of Work Related Injuries. Kirk is a Chartered Physiotherapist with nearly 20 years experience of working at the highest level of sport, including the England Cricket Team, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Northampton Saints, and most recently the London Olympics.
He strongly believes in getting to the root cause of your problem as well as treating your immediate symptoms, with a treatment program unique to you. He also believes that prevention is better than a cure. He doesn’t just offer a reactive service, but provides you with the tools and knowledge to prevent reoccurring problems.
So whether you have common back pain, a sports injury, work-related aches or are recovering from an accident or surgery, his aim is to help you recover as effectively as possible and restore your quality of life.

Wendy Dewar – Pilates Teacher
Wendy sustained numerous injuries in her early career as a professional dancer and turned to Pilates in the 90s with the aim of restoring balance to her body and to recuperate from injury. She is a keen dance fan and finds the control and choreographic flow of Pilates complements her love of dance and movement.
Wendy trained with Suzanne Scott at the Scott Studio for the Pilates Foundation and is a qualified Matwork teacher. She is a member of the Pilates Foundation, the Independent Pilates Teachers Association and the Register of Exercise Professionals. She is REPS level 2 qualified in Exercise to Music and holds a certificate for Core Stability.
Recent CPD courses have included living with Hypermobility Syndrome, Sole to Spine, Thorax to Wrist and she has a keen interest in gait, balance and falls prevention.
Wendy grew up in Bath and lives with her husband in Batheaston. She believes everyone needs movement and good mobility in their lives, and is passionate that functional Pilates provides huge benefits to your body, mind and soul - regardless of age. It's for everyone.
All Personal Trainers are on the Register of Exercise Professionals (Level 3) and Helen is on the National Register of Personal Trainers.
